Such as you unwell or need to go home early for valid reasons and things.. Sometimes you might not be able to get into contact with the leaders or SLS if they are in a meeting.. Hello! Is anyone still reading this blog? :) Do tag on the tagboard to make it lively as it's kinda.dead.

Just to update you guys and keep this blog ALIVE.

~SILVER FOR SYF!~
We have maintained the standard :)
Some of you are satisfied, some of you are not. But whatever it is, as long as you did your best, it's good enough already. If you know you didn't give it your best then, take this as a lesson and learn from it.
Now we have to work towards our GOaLD in SYF 2013. :)

Anyway, MYE is over and CCA has resumed! Yay!!!!!!! Back to band! :D

Please take note:
1. Band will resume on 20th May 2011, 1pm to 6pm(but just take it as 6.30pm)

2. SYF Showcase will be on 26th May 2011 (Next Thurs) and we will be showcasing it to the school! :D

3. Promotion day/ Sec4&5s stepdown day will also be on 26th May, after the SYF showcase.

I hope to see all of you coming! I don't want to see any of you not turning up for SYF showcase okay :'( Sec4&5s especially, every single one of you! It is your last performance so please make it memorable, so that we can look back and think of it! :)

For those who cannot view, i'll summarize what he is trying to say.
THE MESSAGE:
Basically, he has put all his heart into composing the two SYF set pieces.
Likewise, he would like us to put our hearts into playing these set piece(in our case, Memories of Friendship:D), to play with feelings. There are many different intepretations to a good performance.
To begin with having the right rhythm and intervals.
Above all, it is important that everyone treasures the memories made during the performance. (:

I would like everyone to use a highlighter or pencil to highlight or underline/circle your score.
It must look lively!! :D
1. Mark your ' breath marks .
2. Mark where you are going to bring up and put down your instruments.

In case you do not know...
Some word/expression meanings in MOF & SO:
Grandioso a Tempo (MOF, Part L) - To play in the original tempo, in a grand and noble style.
Meno messo (SO, Part C going D) - Less movement.

And for morning practices;
1. Do long tones. But wait!
Sing the note first. After that, check your embouchure. Take a deep breath, & breath in through your mouth.
Gently tongue the first note you are going to play. Listen to your tone, how you sound like. Train your ears.

Hello Damaiwindz! ;)
It has been awhile since I posted.
We have been playing memories of friendship for about 2 months or so already.
And I have to say that,last Friday,your chords were really nice.
But on Saturday,we practised in the hall,and it wasn't as nice as of the day before.
Friday: Mr Wong worked with the Clarinet section.
The next day,everything is forgotten.
Band,when we ask you to take a pencil with you,it's for a reason.
So whenever we have combined band,when Mr Wong points out your mistakes,do not hesitate to take our your score from your folder and jot down some pointers on your score!
Even better,get a highlighter of your favourite colour,highlight the parts that you should take note of!
It's that simple!
I dont think things can get any simpler than that right?:D
The story does not end just there,
you have to work the parts by individual sectionaling!
We require you to come back for sectionals during Mondays and Wednesdays to sectionals on your own parts,so when you come for band practices,you wouldn't be lost in combined band.
Sometimes,there would not be enough time for sectionals during official band practices,so you have to sectionals on your own!
Mondays and Wednesdays :Choose either one to come back for sectionals:)
1 hour practising a phrase and getting it perfect is all it takes.That's what sectionals are for.
It is to correct your own mistakes.Not other's.
Tuesdays,Fridays and Saturdays: Official band practices. You are obviously required to be present 100%.
If you're not feeling well,please inform the top5 leaders.(May,Wanxin,Sophia,QianHui and SY)
We do not one to be thinking of you as "pon band"-ing.So get your message to us.
As for Saturday practices,it is also official SYF trainings,so we are very very nice to let your mornings be free,so you can sleep/go for tuition/do hw/study. So no excuses why you shouldn't attend saturday's practices.(I have made myself clear.)

Auditions.
Some of us have been already auditioned by Ms Tan,and some of you haven't.
We'll be continuing with the SYF auditions on Tuesday on Memories of Friendship.
Those who has already been auditioned by Ms Tan and would like to have a re-audition,
please inform me by this Saturday(:
I know you haven't got to know the marks yet,but you would roughly know your marks according to your own standards.

Sec3s & 2s, as your seniors (sec4s) will be very busy, it will be left to you guys to lead the section.
You MUST not be blur or unsure of anything anymore. Set a goal every band practice.
(eg: hold 30 counts with mouthpiece, or play 10staccato in crotchets successfully)

Every single one of you are important. No matter what instrument you play, what additional roles you have in band, or how old you are.
All of you have the responsibility to be independent and to put in the effort to get gold for syf!! I believe you guys can do it! JY~~ :D

Hi band! Regarding tmr attire,
pls report in:
Your school approved tee and PE shorts and school shoes and NO ANKLE SOCKS.
(There will be attire check!)

Also, you dont have to bring your full school uniform to camp if you are going home to change(in the morning) before the parents night. But you must make sure you are going home to change if not just bring it.
If you dont have a pink tee, please go and borrow it or something! (Pink tee- dont have to be plain one, can have design, as long as 40% of it is PINK)

Btw, there is a change in parents night' repertoire, pls look at the post below for the changes.

I'm posting the announcements here since we ended late today and we don't want to release you all late.
#1) There will be Student Initiated Practice(S.I.) this coming Thursday(2nd Dec,7.45am to 4pm) and next Monday(6Dec, 7.45am to 4pm[Compulsory] [4pm-6pm is optional]).
   It is only during S.I.s that you can practice your Parents Night songs.
   Official band practices are being taken up by Kyrill and/or singapore flyer/Memories of friendship.
   SO S.I.s are very very important.Without you coming back for S.I.s,there will be absolutely no results produced from you for parents night.
   I hope to see all of you come back.

Many people vividly remember 18January2007.
The weather service issued alerts of an impending "storm of the century".
A low-pressure front coming from Newfoundland had turned into a formidable hurricane.
The worst storms in decades were expected to reach early that afternoon.
Schools everywhere were closed and emergency services were put on high alert.
Despite this,the events which followed exceeded worst-case expectations} Deaths,injuries and rampant destruction throughout Europe.
Scores of people return home to find rubble where their homes had once stood.The forests were also hit hard.Massive trees were snapped like toothpicks.

Even though school will be dismissing us early (after all the tiring Skipathon thingy), we will still have band from 12 to 6.30.(There will be breaks inbetween)

Solo concert!

Hey Damaiwindz! How is your solo concert practising going? Not bad,I guess.
There'll be sectionals tomorrow from 1.30 to 5.30pm,so make good use of it.
Note the dates for the SOLO CONCERT:
Sec 3s: 24th August 2010
Sec 2s: -To confirm-
Sec 1s: 31st August 2010

This solo concert is a chance to show the band what you've got.
For this solo concert,the band will vote the best 3 candidates to perform a SOLO during the Parents' Night concert!
So,its all up to you individually to showcase your playing.
Firstly,you have to choose the CORRECT SONG.
The correct song is where you can fully enhance your instruments' timbre.
Every instrument has its own timbre.
Timbre is a quality of a sound that distinguishes one instrument from another.
This is the reason why every instrument is unique!;)
Which also makes the band unique. YAY:D
You can ask for assistance from your fellow band members to listen to you play,so they can give you constructive feedback about your playing.
Secondly,you have to play only 16 bars of your chosen song.
Which means,as simple as that,choose 16 bars from your song.
Last but not least,
We've already told you about the voting for the 3 best candidates to perform solo.
Everyone shall get a piece of 'voting slip',and
1) There shall be no corruption.
No such thing as "Oh,he/she is my friend.So I vote for him/her"
Vote based on the person's playing,not by the person.
2)Do not be bias.
3)Fair vote.
4) Kindly NOT vote for yourself -_____-

Dont worry,its normal! Even I myself will wobble.

Hi band members,

As some of you might have heard/read, some comments have been typed on both the section blogs and band blog's tagboard. I strongly reinforce that NO negative comments are allowed to be typed on the tagboards as it does not contribute to team bonding and instead, it hurts the band as a whole. If this persists, disciplinary actions would be taken.

Regardless of which section is involved in this issue, no section i believe, is a superstar. Music can only be played when the sections come together.

If there are any unhappiness, you can bring it up to your SLs, the band leaders or myself. As i believe that there is nothing that cannot be solved. We are one band , one sound, one family! I strongly urge everyone of you to be strong and stay together. Because each and every one of you is important to me.

If u know that its a mistake you've made, you can come to us and we'll solve it together.

HI DAMAIWINDZ!
Tomorrow will be the actual National Day performance already! Seniors,show what you've got,and sec 1s,just so your best. Most importantly,be alert! I know you all will be engrossed in your score reading or acting cute because of the audience,but still remember to WATCH THE CONDUCTOR!:D hahaa. Follow instructions and make sure everything is done well.Keep a lookout for instructions given by the leaders!
The following are performance information;
Attire:
BOTH-Full school uniform (with collar pin and tie
Guys-your hair must be neat and perfect.Go and cut if it is too long.If not,be prepared that Weitian will spam gel on your hair!
Girls- Red rubber band and white hairband(compulsory), skirt must be knee-length.No ear studs allowed.
Student leaders- you'll have to wear white shoes.
----
After the performance,we'll be having "recess" which is provided,yay.
You are required to bring an extra set of attire(pe shirt,band tee) as we'll be having some activities till 12 noon.
Assemble at 6am sharp,be punctual!
Drink lots of water and sleep at 10am(max) tonight!

Hi band! National Day Performance is just 7 days away! (It's on the 9th Aug)
Have you prepared yourselves yet?
Shall put up the Repetoire in case some of you still don't know:

Please make sure you have packed your files already.The bandstore would be opened for you guys on Monday & Wednesday to do it if you haven't! :)

Also, please make sure that:
-Your attire is perfect during band practices! That includes sectionals. Take the initiative to check yourselves, do not wait for others to do it for you:)
- No knocking/dropping of instruments/instrument stands! The instruments is expensive. So please, be kiasu a bit. Prevention is better than cure.
- Scores/stands should not be missing/flying around! They should either be in your file, or ring file.(Stands should be placed in a bag)
- Dropping of band chairs is strictly prohibited! Also, please make yourselves useful by helping to carry the chairs. I don't want to see anyone slacking. The band can only function fully if everyone puts in 101% effort.

There will be auditions for the performance.
Sec1s as well as seniors, please put in your 101% effort! Your hardwork will definitely be paid off.
I hope to see everyone working hard for the performance! Feel free to loan home your instruments & files :)

Do the 10 points step by step. First, work on your rhythm, then notes, followed by articulations and so on.
After you have worked on the first 7 points, you can practice with your section/band for the last 3 points.
In this way, not only will you save time for yourself, but for others as well!

Hello band!
After so many practices,I am glad to say that we've improved!
SEC ONES! You've been practising and get ready to join the main band!
There will be challenges you'll face,and things you'll dread,but hey! We've all gone through the same thing! So sec 1s! Continue to practise,come for band,and Iam sure one day,you'll be playing really wonderful songs!
As for the main band...
SIBF IS COMING!
We better buck up! We've heard improvement and lets hope its not just the Alumni improving!

Discipline;(Conduct of band)
We would like to raise the standard of discipline,and the whole band has too cooperate.
Iam sure we can do it,and I can see that developing slowly.
Welfare;(Attire)
The welfare has indeed been pulling people out because of their attire.
Please note that how you dress or present yourself is very important,which is why we have to mind your attire.
So remember:
No knocking of instruments(They do not come cheap!)
No dragging of chairs(Just lift them up with a little teamwork)
No wrong attire(Suppose to be: Clipped up fringe,tucked in shirt,no ankle socks.Its not that difficult right?)
Last but not least,dont answer sloppily! Answer confidently,show sense of urgency,and just do it! Of course,do it in the right way.

HEY BAND!
Now that Mid-Year Exams are over, (Bet you guys are jumping for joy now!)
CCA will be resuming! Aren't you guys excited? :D
The next band practice will be on tuesday (18th May),
The sec4s and 5s are also required to come.
This will be your very last band practice.
Also, do take note that the bandstore would be
open on monday morning (17th May) for all of
you to put back your instruments at 7.15am.
Strictly nobody is allowed to bring your instrument
back to the classroom.
So do be a reponsible band member and come slightly earlier on monday!

Since it has been quite some time since you guys have practice,
do make sure that you still remember your embouchure,
fingerings, positions, pitching etc.
Do make use of this few days (especially monday's sectionals)
before the 1st band practice to get back all those things mentioned above.
I am sure you guys want to start practicing on your songs once CCA
resume right? So instead of trying to get back your embouchure,
why not take the time to get it back now and use the time during band
practice to practice the songs with your section?
It's much much more enjoyable! (:

As for the sec1s, you guys will be exposed to songs really soon!
I'm sure all of you want to play as well as your seniors right?
So do memorise all your fingerings, positions to get yourself fully prepared!
As for the sec2-3s, SIBF is approaching really soon, in less than 20 practices!

Hello band! :D

Some announcements:
1) There would be band practice on this saturday (3rd April)
from 9am till 6pm.
Sec4s are required to come from 9am to 1pm in order to prepare for
the upcoming speech day performance.
As for the sec2s and 3s, it is compulsory for all of you to come
from 9am till 6pm (The full practice) in order to
prepare for speech day as well as SIBF.
For the sec1s, it would be volunteery for saturday.
If you come, you would be doing your sectionals in the classroom.
It is highly encouraged! (:
Lastly, do remember to assemble 15mins earlier on saturday
for the sec2s - sec4s.

2) Come back for SI tomorrow to pack your files.
You should have all this songs in your file by next practice.

Hi band!
Just in case some of you did not receive the march holiday
band practice consent forms on tuesday, the practice will be on
16th March (8am to 6pm) and 17th March (8am to 6pm).
All band members are required to assemble 15mins
earlier for both practices so people coming after
7.45am will be considered late. Do practice self-discipline and
make sure that you are not late for the practices.

And, do take note that the bandstore would also be open
on 15th March, monday (8am to 1pm) although
it is not reflected in the consent form.
For those involved in the demo band, you are required to come.
As for the rest, you are required to come too,
to pack your section cupboards as well as your files.
So, do take this opportunity to get everything tidied up!

Now, regarding SIs, the number of people attending is getting
lesser and lesser. I hope that all of you realise how lucky we are,
to be able to have 2 SIs in one week.
Not all of the schools have this special opportunity to have
a chance to do self-sectionals on non-band practice days.
We have the opportunity but are we using it wisely?
The band teachers sacrificed by staying back on SI days
just to allow us to have SIs, Mr Wong sacrificed by rushing
down to Damai on wednesdays to take us for combined sectionals.
Are we cherishing their efforts and sacrifices?
It is because they care and think that Damaiwindz has the
potential to be a great band and rise up to high standards.
There isn't much practice left.

Currently, we are only left with 37 practices.
It is really limited and how many hours do we have in
just one practice? It's really little and I am sure you know it.
We have limited time during normal band practice so why
not come back on SI days to clear up your mistakes
and practice on the parts which you are unsure of?
Why not do your own self score study at home and circle
the parts you are unsure of and ask your seniors the next
time you see them? I am very sure they are more than
willing to help! In fact, inside them, they must be really glad.
Because they see the effort in you, the effort to try and improve.
Time is running out and before you realise it,
it's already July! Our big day: SIBF.

And in case you are unaware, we have some events other
than SIBF coming up too. They are: Speech Day, Parents Night,
monthly lunch time concert (One section per month).
Are we still going to remain like this?
Tell yourself, a BIG NO!
We can do it, we can be as good as before,
or even better than before.
Why? Because we are Damaiwindz! Haha. (:
Just because we have slipped a little and is slightly further away

Hey band!
Im here to remind you that
you all have to start bucking up!
As we all know, SIBF is approaching soon,
its REALLY time to buck up.
Since you all had seen the score (eagle bend) long ago,
you all are expected to know how to play.
Right now, there are still many mistakes that you all have
to clear up. So please CLEAR UP your mistakes when you
come back for SI!
And since most of you will not be in school from wednesday onwards,
please make sure you TRY to come back for SI on Monday
AT LEAST FOR AN HOUR to clear up your parts.
Those who can stay longer, do stay!
I know you all can MAKE IT for SIBF
if you all start to be responsible to play out your parts, to clear up
all mistakes.
And since we had agreed what award we are aiming for,
do put in your effort and do your best!
And with that, i look forward to see most of you
coming back for SI tmr.
I believe you all can and will make it if you start bucking up now,

you would be going for the SIBF competition.

And the 42 practices are including your holidays, CCA stand-downs.

Which actually means that you have lesser than 42 practices!

It's really very little and for each practice, we only have very little time,

especially on tuesdays. And do you always have the time to come back

for SIs either on monday or wednesday?

It's really time to feel the urgency, for every single one of you!

We do not have much time left and as responsible members of

the band, do cherish every second, every minute, every hour of

your band practice. The leaders have already emphasise to all

of you the importance of sectionals and how much you should

make use of the time given to clear up all your mistakes.

Start now, than later! Encourage one another to go on.

The journey might be tough but Damaiwindz members

never ever give up! We will hang on even though it's tough

Hey band!
Do you realise how fast time flies?
It's already the start of February, the 2nd month of 2010.
It seems as if yesterday was just the first day of 2010 right?
Without you realising, everything is going to happen really quickly.
One of the example is: Sec1s are already coming in next week.
The sec4s, you guys are going to step down in a few months time.
It is already time for all of you to pass down all the knowledge you
have learnt in this past few years.
The sec3s, you guys are going to be the leaders of the band after the sec4s
stepped down and you would be the one leading the younger ones.
The sec2s, without realising,
you have already become a senior in your section
and it's time for you to take care of the sec1 juniors like how your seniors
taught and take care of you last year.

You guys have different roles and tasks you have to do or play for now.
Starting from next week, each and every single of you in Damaiwindz
are officially seniors of the band.
All the things you do, the examples you set,
the attitude towards learning or
trying will be what the new batch of sec1s will look up to.
They're young, they set all of you as their examples and they would follow.
All of you have to realise how important your actions are,
and being in the band
for a few years, I'm really sure all of you know the rules and regulations.
You guys know that you have to practice hard in order to play well and also
not forgetting to put in your heart, soul, passion and
determination in your playing.
You guys know it so just do it! (It rhymes, haha)
Everybody is a different individual, just because your friends did not do it,
it does not mean that you cannot do it too!
Unleash your talent, ability and be the first one to stand up
and be the special one.
I guess the leaders had said enough, regarding your attitude, playing
and discipline wise. To emphasise again: You guys know it! (:
Come on Damaiwindz, we got to move on and improve!
We haven't reach the moutain top yet, so let's strive hard as one
whole band to achieve the maximum.
Because you guys could, and I believe you guys will. (:

And before I move on,
I would like to tell the new leaders, heads, section leaders
that the time has finally come. The band will be fully yours
after about 2 months. Right now, the old leaders could
guide you along but after that, they would be gone.
But never ever say you cannot do it, we have faith
and trust in you, that's why we appointed you.
Never ever doubt your own ability becase you can do it!

Lastly, I would be posting the lastest section photos right here.
And I hope that the 'Smiles' from all your fellow band mates
would make you feel that 'Hey, as a band, we are going through
thick and thin together and I'm not alone.'

I'm glad you guys made improvements on Friday! Continue to strive harder in your music as well! Dont forget we are preparing for the big big day which is SIBF! As a member of the band, please do your part at home! I dont know how long, or how much we have to emphasize the importance of score studying. ITS REALLY IMPORTANT. So, please help us and yourself so we save up some time in band practices to do more relevant things! Its just like completing your homework before your lesson. Treat score studying as a homework for band as well! Furthermore, its only maybe 100g or so of scores you have to bring home! You all wont lose a piece of skin right! So, bring home your scores. Aloha band!
I would really like to say: You've made improvements yesterday!
Regarding the noise level during assmbling and also combined band. (:
The leaders are really glad that yesterday after sectionals,
you guys are really cooperative and nobody talked while assembling.
It was so quiet that we could hear the fountain downstairs, haha.
As long as you guys cooperate with us, everything could be done quickly.
We do not have to waste our time, trying to keep everybody quiet or
even waste time lecturing all of you about discipline.
I am sure all of you don't want the leaders to keep nagging at you too right?
So do keep up the good work! Like what Mr Wong had said yesterday:
It takes 2 hands to clap. If your friends talk to you, all you have to do is
not to reply. It doesn't mean that you are rude, it's just that it's not the
right time to talk.
All and all, Give yourself a pat on your shoulder for the improvement!

And also, do not forget to pack your scores on this coming monday.
You would need to put in 'Majulah Singapura'
'Faith Hope Charity' and 'Romansque' into your files.
Everybody should have this 2 scores on the next band practice.
And, do take out all the scores that you do not need,
like those ancient songs we haven't played for years.
And there would be a file check on this coming wednesday (3/2)
by the scary and fierce librarians!

Lastly, each and every single one of you should take good care of
your section's tuners, I-Recommend and especially your own instrument.
Treat it like as if it's a living thing. If you drop it, it would be injured.
If you drop it too many times, it'll go to the hospital.
If the doctors can't save it, it would die.
Why not use this method to ensure that you take good care of them?
Although you are not the one who pay for it but it's the school properties.
How about your next generation? If you spoil them,
what are they gonna use?
A tuning fork to tune their instruments?
A self-written book of I-recommend copied by themselves?
An instrument which has 1000000 scratches and
parts missing here and there?
Do give it a serious thought as it really matters.

Hey band! I'm here to remind you that
from next practice onwards, you all are to be
like seniors. No more slacking in attire, discipline
and etc. Come on! Its not a difficult thing & i know you all
can. Your goals are listed here!
1. Correct attire
-Clip your fringe [ girls ]
-Guys with long hair, get it cut
-Tuck in your shirt/blouse
-Fingernails must be short
-Socks covering your ankles.
Your attire must be in high standard
AT ALL TIMES WHEREVER YOU GO!

2. Disclipline
-Be serious at the correct time
-Obey instructions
-Reply to questions as a band with
energized volume!

3.QM
-Do not knock/hit your intruments when placing it on the floor/ bringing
it up
-Sign in your instruments by monday (25/01/2010)!

4. Logistics
-Stack the chairs in correct numbers.
-Stop dropping chairs!
-Those who break chairs, will pay.
-Remember to arrange chairs/tables
back to its original position after sectionals!

5. Library
-I recommend (s) and tuners to be returned each practice
automatically on the table.

6. Late coming/sick
-Inform SLs if you are coming late for band practice
AND THE REASON!
-Submit your parents letters or MCs to the secretary if you are sick
by the next practice you come.

It may seem alot to do, but you all have to do it
& i know you all can. We are all seniors and we shouldnt waste time
telling you all to get into correct attire etc every practice.
Come on Band! This is the standard routine. We wouldnt be nagging
and putting our focus on it IF YOU REACH THE STANDARD
WRITTEN ABOVE!

We should be focusing on getting good sound, good tone,
balancing etc for SIBF. And we dont have much time if you all
carry on with such low standard of discipline. We will be wasting time
telling you to get into correct attire, self-disclipline during band practice etc.
So please, start thinking, acting like a REAL SENIOR.
Get rid of the childish-ness, negative thinking and fight!

You & I know we all can and we should and we must if we want the
medal! So you all are HIGHLY encouraged to come back for sectionals
if you all can! On either mondays/wednesdays. Thursdays sectionals
are NOT CONFIRMED! So we will let you all know again.
With this, i hope to see improvements by the next practice
in terms of everything listed above. -our goals!

HELLO. :D

I would like to thank everyone for your effort you put in during the holidays, and a week before, rushing for sectionals and sort! Today's performance is something to remember forever, where all Damaiwindz members stood up and supported each other! (: I was very glad you guys finally understood whats teamwork, and i hope you all keep up the bonds with each other! On the other hand for the music side, there's still much to work on for your upcoming SIBF! Today's performance was not that bad, but there's still many areas you guys could have worked on before today's performance! So, take this as a learning process, enjoy, learn and make mistakes. (: You guys prove me wrong, and make me really proud to be a part of Damaiwindz! :D All in all, I hoped you guys enjoyed today very much! Hello band!
Tomorrow will be our big day for the school and the band. Most of you guys are involved for tmr's activity! And for the sec4s, it will be one of our last performances before we leave Damaiwindz. Therefore, i hope everyone please do try your best as a band together. Remember the points Mr Wong have been repeating on? Eg. LOUDER! We'll be performing in the parade square, so its important you guys try to bring out your own unique tone, and volume. And i have been looking forward to the point where Damaiwindz are no longer a woodblock band, who just play notes, but on the other hand, play music and enjoy it as a passion. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A brand new year: 2010!
I hope that all of you have already think of your new year resolutions
regarding what you want to achieve in band.
It does not have to be something difficult like being able to play
the whole book of I-recommend perfectly.
It can be things like, I want to achieve good tuning in 1minute
or I do not want to squeak as often as I did in 2009.
Challenge yourself! Give yourself a chance to show everybody that
"Me, XXX, can be better than what everybody think!"
Band, I sincerely believe that all of you have the potential and ability.
It's just a matter of how determined you are to give it a try and if you're
willing to apply what you have learnt during band practices.

Let's make 2010 to be a even better year.
A year whereby we, Damaiwindz, break through together
as one whole band! Come on band,

long time no talk. :D

Anyway, i just want all of you to put in your best every now and then! As you all know, SIBF is NEXT YEAR. And i'm very sure you guys want to redeem yourselves after this year's SYF. But all of you are not doing anything to show that you really want the SIBF. Where's the determination and drive before SYF? I know and it can be seen that you all are taking things very lightly. And THIS SHOULD NOT be that kind of attitude i expect to see our band. Hence, from now onwards i want everyone to try your very best at the moment you are playing your instrument. Your best also means that if you can do your score study, self-training at home, then you better do it. I just cant stop emphasizing how self-training at home is VERY IMPORTANT. And i know all of you are sick and tired of hearing "self-training, self-training". But rest assure that, that's the only way to success for our band. The brand new year is coming, so do buck up everyone! Sec1s you all are not sec1s anymore. So, think like a senior!

Lastly, please please please SCORE STUDY EAGLE BEND at home! Its VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Its the same concept as having your homework done before going to school! And when we come back as a band on 23rd, there will be a rhythm test on Eagle Bend. Be prepared for it! I've said my piece here. I will include the recording of Eagle Bend in the next post. Hey Band! Have you all started to
score study your scores at home?
I hope you all did. For those who
havent, please start score-studying
your scores especially on EAGLE BEND
& POSTCARD FROM SINGAPORE.

This is very important as we will
be testing out both pieces once
we resume band practice on the 23rd of december for the SIBF.
By then, you all must be ready to play out your
parts. We are not supposed to use the band practice
to test out the pieces. As you all know, if everyone
dont do their part by score-studying at home,
we have not made any progress and in fact
we will end up wasting time, letting you all
learn your parts during the practice.
I hope all for you will be responsible
to learn your parts by then.

Also, after you had finished score-studying,
please start practising your instruments.
Dont leave it at home to rot okay!
Its time for you all to test out your new pieces
like the EAGLE BEND & POSTCARD FROM SINGAPORE.
At the same time you all can improve on parts you
already can play to make it better.
So there shouldnt be any excuse for you all
to say that there's nothing for you all
to practise on!

As for your Sec 1 orientation repertoir,
you are also supposed to practice it on
your instruments already. Because by now, you all should
already finish score-studying the pieces.
Apply what you all have learnt to improve on your
parts and clear up your mistakes.
For example, those who still cannot run
their running notes should do sing and fing first.
Dont sing the rhythm only. But say out the notes while
fingering them. If there's any parts you have difficulty
on, you all can ask your SLs for help.

So now, Everyone should start doing something.
Your SLs and the leaders will want to see
everyone putting in effort to achieve a
higher standard when we come back for the next band prac.
I really hope you all dont disappoint us because I believe
all of you can do it. Just take the seniors drills for example,
the seniors all presevered and so they managed to get the standard
we expected them to. The sec 1s can do the same too. You all just
need to have more practise at home on your own.
Hence, I want you all also to continue
practising your drills at home. When you all are feeling
tired after playing your instruments, you can practise your drills.
And after your drills, you can go back to your instruments again!
This should be your daily routine when you dont have
band practices to attend. But of course, dont forget to
do your holiday assignments!
So everyone Jiayou! :D

Now, about the band outing.
Band outing 09 will be held
at EAST COAST PARK.
The meeting place will be at
BEDOK INTERCHANGE (phone booth area)
on 21ST DECEMBER at
1.15PM.
The band outing will last from
1.15pm-8.30pm.
**Those who are coming later on the day itself
or have to leave earlier,
will have to sms any of the leaders
beforehand (by 18 december) and you would be
allowed to leave if you have a vaild reason.
As for the BBQ pit number, we will post
it on the band blog asap when we had confirmed it.
The attire for the band outing will be
either section tee or dark-coloured tee (for those
who dont have section tee).
& You can either wear pe shorts or
any pants that is untill knee-length.
We will update you all again whether you all
have to bring extra clothes but you all
would be given time to bathe.
*NO FBTs allowed.
For the band outing, your SLs be collecting
money ($6) from everyone by 18 december.
So please cooperate and pay the money by the
deadline given.
If anyone of you have any difficulty in
paying the money, please let your SLs know
about it. And those who havent confirm
whether you would be coming with your SL,
do so by tonight!

Lastly, Sorry for the naggy post. But as we all know
that the band must start improving in all areas like
for example discipline, welfare before the next batch
of Sec 1s join us, the leaders have met up with
the SLs and Heads today to plan out what we
would be doing to help to improve the Band.
For a start, your SLs would start to give
constant reminders and motivational messages
to you all to strive hard for the SIBF, so I hope
all of you really start working hard for it.
And not ignore their messages becuase they are
only trying to wish for the best for their section
to not slack at home. So once again, please start
doing something. Score study, Practise instruments and
of course Practise drills. I look foward to see all
of you to breakout by the next bad practice!

The bandstore would be open on this friday (4/12),
10am-12.30pm for everybody to loan home your

For those section who haven't finish packing your files,

Hello band!
Just a few reminders again in case some of you didn't come for
the previous band practice. So, I do not want anyone of you to
ask the leaders the same questions again as it's your responsibility
to check the band blog for notices/updates.

1) The bandstore will be open on this coming monday (23/11)
from 9.30am to 12pm for you guys to come back and pack your
files. For those sections who are not done with packing your files,
do make use of monday to finish up everything. We mean it when
we say that your files have to be packed by monday.

2) Report at 7.30am at the open area beside the canteen on this
coming tuesday (24/11) with all your belongings for the band camp.
Remember to bring your $8 for the food and report in your school
approved T-shirt with PE shorts.

3) For those who have not paid $15 for the new band tee,
please bring the money on 24/11. It will really be easier for us
if you hand in the money as soon as possible.

For the sake of those who did not come for the last band practice,
I would post up the updated schedule of the next few band practices.

17th November (Tuesday) - 8am to 1pm (SI)
19th November (Thursday) - 8am to 1pm (SI)
24th November to 26th November - Band Camp
23rd December (Wednesday) - 8am to 6pm
25th December (Friday) - 8am to 12pm (SI)
28th December (Monday) - 8am to 1pm

Do take note that even though the practices next week are SI,
it does not mean that the practices are optionals.
All of you still have to come for band practices as per normal

Hello band!
Recently, I've seen many complaints regarding the band practices. I just hope to make an address to the issue and behind everything we do, there's a reason. And to the people tagging, its okay to express your opinions, but we hope that you made yourself known to us so that we could ask for your suggestions to make the practices more interesting. Firstly, it is true that band hours are long, it's because the time to carve out a good band takes more than a year. If you all wanted shorter hours, then the fellow band members have to pull up their socks by doing a lot of self preparation at home before they come. I know we have been doing the same activities repeatedly. Therefore, the video shown on that day states that we do it one time, and do it right. But are all of you doing it right for the first time? If not, then there's a need for repetition for activities. I just hope that everyone will look at the long hours of practices at a different pespective, come with a goal you want to achieve for the day, so you wont find the practices boring, but meaningful to everyone. When you have a goal in mind, you will have the motivation to practice more and try harder. That's when you will find band practices to be intersting and useful. You are the only person who can decide if the practice is long and boring or intersting and useful. Do remember that the other band members are going through this too and that you're not alone. Do think about it.

Just wanna remind you guys on 2 things:

1) All of you will have to report at the open area outside the
AV theatre on this thursday's and friday's band practice.
Only from next week onwards, all of you will assemble at the
open area beside the canteen like previous holiday practices.

2) Report at 8.45am for this friday's (13/11) practice, not 7.45am.
Do spread the message around and inform your friends about it.

And I know that, some of you might feel that holiday practices
are really long and tiring, especially those 8am-6pm practices.
But all of you have to keep in mind that,
it is during the holiday practices where your standard will rise and soar!

just give him/her a nudge and say: Hang on!

Hello band!
I just hope that the motivational speech on Friday did help all of you. Please do reflect upon it, and set a goal for yourself real soon. If not, you will start to regret that you should have done something more useful. Therefore, please please set a goal for yourself, to bench mark your achievements. It doesnt have to be a very big goal, like becoming a best player, but something small to start off. For example, ability to hold 24 counts. Something like that would make a difference to yourself, and the band. So, i do hope everyone start preparing yourself for tougher practices ahead, if you all wish to participate in the competition. Last but not least, doing score study at home would be best. (: I've said enough, and i really do hope everyone would be responsible for yourself, start doing some self practice at home. Hey band! I've asked the SLS to sms you guys regarding
some important annoncements but just in case,
I will post up the announcements at this blog too.
Do take note of it!

1) There'll not be any sectionals on this coming monday and thursday
due to the O level examinations.

2) Band practice on this coming tuesday will start at the normal time,
2pm to 6pm. As for this coming friday's band practice,
it will be from 1.30pm to 6pm.
Take note, it does not start at 1pm.

3) For BOTH practices, everybody is required to assemble at the 4th floor,
open area beside the AV theatre NOT outside the bandstore.
There will be O level examinations at the hall so we have to
minimise our noise level. Please be considerate and keep your noise level down.

you're DON'T HAVE to come for tuesday's practice.

FAREWELL NIGHT

What: As a group, all of you are required to put up a performance together.
So, all of you have to meet up and plan what you want to perform.
It could be in the form of a play, skit, advertisement or
you all can choose to dance or sing.
It would be better if you include props in your performance.
You will have to act out your performance on the spot during farewell night,
we'll not accept any videos.

Duration: Your performance should last for 5mins or more than that.
Nothing less than that.

Due date: 10/11/2009. Your performance should be ready by this date.

hello guys. (:
Exams has finally ended for all levels. So there shouldnt be any excuses why you all cant practice at home! The least i expect is to hold long tones at home for every single person. You can lie to me, or your SLs that you did practice, but you cant lie to yourself. By not practicing, you're not able to improve yourself, and you will be stuck there till you decided to start doing something. All the Sls have tried their best to persuade you to practice, and you should do yourself and your SL a favour! Afterall, you're the one gaining, but not your SL! After everything i said, i hope you all will practice during this 2 days before band officially resumes!

Last but not least, i hope everyone involved in the ensemble have already memorise their scores. Because your lunchtime concert would be very soon. Very soon as in 29th October, Thursday. Therefore, everyone please pull up your socks to be determined to show the school what you've got for them! (: Rmb the tanaka video? How every single person strived to do their best! Im just here to remind you all that

How have you all been? Now that cca has officially stand down, its time to concentrate on your studies! However, you still cannot neglect your instrument! For ALL involved in the ensembles, please do practice REALLY HARD to be at your top form for the lunchtime concert.

During this whole one month, you can actually spent the time wisely by doing simple things like memorising your scores. As you all know, you cant expect to read score when you playing as a ensemble. By the time cca resume, i should expect all members involved in the ensemble to have memorise your score. No excuses by then. Please do not abuse your rights to play in the ensemble, and make fully use of it. For soloists, please try your best as well! The time is very tight, and limited. Spent it wisely!

Next, other than studying, please dont forget to practice at home as well! Some things you must do are:

1) Diaphragm Training
2) Long tones, at least 24 counts for EVERYONE
4) Chromatic
5) Intervals 4-8 for Sec1s

For seniors, although you have managed to play 1-16 for intervals, why not try something you never played before? You all could even play 17-20, so on and forth till you manage to complete the book! Never limit yourself to something. I'm waiting for the day, where every individual manage to play the whole book of the I Recommend, and dares to challenge. Until now, i'm waiting and i will still be waiting. (:

On top of that, there are some songs you all can score study, and learn bars by bars for this month.

Sec1s:
-Pasadena, learn the parts they are still unsure of
-When you will come back again, focus on phrasing
-Pavane in Blue ( whole piece )

Seniors:
-Folk Song Suite mvt 1, 2
-Lets Swing ( bar 25- 93 )

There's a number of things for you all to do, but there's around a month to do everything. I hope to see all the sec1s improving slowly after this one month break. I believe the sec1s will soon become a senior after this month. Prove me right man! :D. Not to forget, one last thing you all CANNOT do is: TO LEAVE YOUR INSTRUMENT TO COLLECT DUST! Hello band!
I am sure most of you are aware that CCA will be standing down very soon.
For those who don't know, friday (18/9) will be our last band practice.
Are all of you gonna continue going to band practice without any aims,
goals or something you would like to achieve?
Do start planning now! What are the things you want to improve or conquor?
Is it in your discipline, playing or determination to try harder?
I am sure nobody would like to get scolded or punishments for every
band practice. Everybody would like to come for band practice,
feeling happy and statisfied at the end of the day as they've achieved
or improved in something. You, yourself is the only one who can do it.
To start of, all you have to do is just to be in the correct attire.
I am very sure that all of you know what is the
standard correct attire for band.
It is just whether if you want to be in correct attire or not.
It really doesn't kill to look like a nerd for just 2 days out of 7 days.
After all, attitude and determination is everything. I believe in you guys!

A friendly reminder that your solo concert is this friday! I hope you all are like panicking now! Please please practice to do your best on friday. If not, believe me, you will be very embarassed as the whole band and mr wong will be listening! Do not only regret after your solo concert. And for those who think that you can get away from the solo concert by not attending this friday's practice, you're wrong. I can get the names of the absentees and the reasons from the Sls. Those without valid reasons, will be dealt with. Eventually, you will still have to make up for it on the next practice, and the next if you still choose to run away. So, get it done over with, so you can learn from it, and move on.

Next, i hope you all do have your notebooks and pencils by the next practice. Those without, will be punished this time, on thursday. Sls and myself have reminded all of you the umpteenth time. And, if you still are without a notebook with pencils, then you ought to be punished.

Thirdly, if there's anything about the band, the people, the band programme, please do approach myself, Zoey or Peiyi. We would be very glad to hear your suggestions or opinions!

Lastly, please dont keep thinking that Lets Swing, Pasadena are hard. I believe we will be able to play Lets Swing! What you all are lakcing of is self-confidence! And thats a very important thing in playing. Change your mindset about how difficult the piece and believe me you will be able to overcome the piece. (:

Lastly lastly, for those NOT coming to this thursday or friday have to INFORM your SLs BY TMR. This is a scheduled band practice, consent forms have been given. There shouldn't be any reasons why you are not able to attend unless you have to go for holidays, or you are sick on that day itself. In addition, holiday practices are official practices and will be included in your attendance for your whole year. If you're unable to meet the 75% target, DANG! You get a fair conduct. Therefore to achieve your excellent conduct, please do attend band practices okay! To conclude, i want to see a whole, full and energise band on thursday and friday! :D

Hi band! How are you guys?
It's officially the september holidays tomorrow,
do take this holiday to study for your EOY exams and
also practice your instrument!
Of course, the first piority will be studies but NEVER EVER
neglect your instrument. Do practice for at least 30mins a day.
It's really better than nothing.

And also, do take note of the dates of band practices.

1) 10 September, thursday (8am till 1pm)
2) 11 September, friday (8am till 6pm)

It's important to attend your holiday practices because it's when
you improve the most! Do take note that everybody have to report
at 7.45am for both holiday practices. Nobody is allowed to be late!
And also, remember to sign your consent forms.

hello band! :D
1) I am here to remind you all that your Solo Concert is 10 days away! Therefore, everyone please pull up your socks to practice and put on your very best on that day! I don't want to see any sloppy playing because you're either too lazy to practice or you havent decided on your song. This is not the attitude i expect from you all. And Seniors, you all should be the role models for your sec1s by motivating them to practice harder for their pieces so they will be on their best that day. For that, I will randomly pick someone to play their pieces for me to comment. Jiayou everyone, and i do expect your top form 10 days away! (:

2) Recently, i know many of you all have to come back for sectionals on either monday/thursday for your auditions. However, if your parents disallow you, please feel free to approach me as you would be given a consent form for your parents to acknowledge. SLs, please take note of this point!

3) For most of you, your auditions have already ended. However, some havent been auditioned yet. For those who think that you have failed the audition, i dont want you to take this so lightly. It just shows that you are not putting in any effort and is a signal to you to practice even harder from now onwards. Therefore, for sec1s and seniors, please start working on your techniques!

It can be any exercises from the I recommend, it doesnt matter. In addition, i want to pose a challenge to you all to complete the whole book of I recommend! Dont just stick to the 4 major scales! Open yourselves to new challenges, think and plan ahead. Other than that, wont you feel the sense of accomplishment when you managed to play something new? Enough of saying, so i hope you all will think about what i said, and transfered it to action!

4) Lastly, please bring your NOTEBOOKS with PENCILS with you for every practice! I know recently, i havent been emphasizing this. But i realised everyone have been forgetting your mistakes practice after practice. Therefore, please take down the notes on the parts you are unable to play. You will be amazed after a few months that what that few sentences you have wrote every practice have become a page full. Moreover, the few notes can be a great help in your playing. After the practice, revise and you will not make the same mistake again. Its similar to studying techniques! From this friday onwards, i expect everyone to have their NOTEBOOK and PENCILS. Those without, will be punished.

5) Lastly lastly, please practice your instruments home! A 30 mins would really be good. Please make fully use of it since you all have brought home your instrus! Sec1s please practice on your breathing at home! Seniors, your articulations and dynamics! Thats all. Goodnight World!

Hello band! It has been quite some time since the blog is updated.
Anyway, just a few reminders once again.
Take note that the bandstore will not be open
on this upcoming monday so there will be no sectionals.
And the second thing is, it is a school holiday on this upcoming
tuesday and so, there will not be any band practice.
BUT, all of you are required to score study and do self-practice at home.
Like what Yilin say, don't just leave your instruments
in one corner and allow it to collect dust.
Since you have already bring it home, please make full use of it and practice!
30mins a day would be better than nothing. (:
And to end off today's post, I would like to share with you this story.
Although it's a bit lengthy, I hope that everybody will read this story and really think about it.

A Droplet And A Ripple.

It was there, clinging on to the edge of the leaf and was about to fall, fall into the little puddle of water below… The Droplet.

Yes, the droplet was ready to give up and surrender its existence to the little puddle below but something made it cling on, a little longer; perhaps a desire to stay that fraction of a second more in the company of the green leaf, the same green leaf that held it, nurtured it and was now ready to offer it to the little society of droplets underneath.

What was it? Just a droplet! Where did I come from? No one knows. Perhaps a fog, a dew, an overnight drizzle perhaps from nowhere but it was now here. It existed and existed with a distinct identity, an identity that was now to be submerged into the flow of millions - to be lost.

Reluctantly, the droplet left the shelter of the leaf. All the time it went down, it pointed towards its once safe, soft and sure shelter. And then with a little 'whimp' it dropped into the puddle.

Don't know what strength the droplet had in its heart or what amount of agony or what purpose it set itself to make it so heavy.

As it fell, it created a huge ripple all around it. Yes, it was the sign of revolution. It said that it was here to make changes, to transform the society of droplets into the way it learnt intuitively from the soul of the world, to live with a distinct identity.

But, something else happened. The ripple it sent around gradually died out and with time, silently the pool of droplets engulfed it. And its existence was lost.

But yes, the water in the puddle never remained the same again because the droplet fell, the ripple was created, the mud was churned, and the color of the society of droplets changed forever.

We may be a droplet in the ocean of people but it requires only one, to churn what lies within us, to change the course of destiny.

This story is dedicated especially to the sec1s.
If you find that you're losing confidence in yourself
with regards to your playing, do hang on!
One have to struggle and break through before he/she can succeed.
Always remind yourself to continue trying. Remind yourself of this story.
Even a droplet made an effort to hang on, so can you!

Hello band!
As all of you know, it is maintenance day tomorrow
so there are a few things to take note of.

1) Thermometers

Please remember to bring your thermometers tomorrow!
It is very important and I'm sure it is not too difficult to just
put one thermometer into your bag, it won't weigh much.

2) Cotton Buds

Every section is required to bring cotton buds,
the QMS are NOT going to provide them for you.
It is always better to bring more so as to play safe.
You will never know if your instruments are super dusty/dirty
till you have to use 100000 cotton buds tomorrow, haha.
The best: Everybody bring one packet each!

3) Reporting time

Tomorrow's reporting time is 8.45am not 9am.
Please take note and nobody is allowed to be late.
Alarm clock didn't ring, never hear alarm, forget to set alarm,
miss the bus, overslept, your pet dog/cat ate your alarm clock
is NOT acceptable and it is not an excuse for you to be late.

It has been quite long ago since all of us maintain our instruments
so everybody, please put in your best effort to maintain your instruments
till it is in top standard! I'm sure everybody will feel very statisfied
to see their instruments in top form so let's work hard tomorrow!

hello band!

In case you all have been wondering why we have been shifting from classrooms, to harmony room, to bandstore or music room for sectionals, its because they are having orals now. And we wouldnt been able to use the classrooms.

Therfore, i hope you all will try to bear with the limited space we have and make do with what you have instead of grumbling! We all know, and we will be trying to find a way out. Meanwhile, please bear with it!

Next, as you all have realised we are starting on Pasadena. Its all of your job to ensure you score study before you come for band practice. As you all know, our time is very limited, and if we were to use the time for score studying, we wouldnt be able to complete other stuffs!

Furthermore, if we are going have score study, you all will whine saying that band practices are boring! Therefore, if you dont want band practices to be boring, you all have to do your own part by bringing home your scores to score study! Its not that hard right, perhaps its only a pathetic 10grams! LOL! Hence, please be a good girl/boy by bringing home your scores!

Dearest Sec1s, i realised you all have been trying to keep up the standard with the seniors! And you all are doing well! (: Please continue to work hard, and always try, because you will never know if you never try! On the other hand, a minority of you are giving up on yourselves. Have you even ask yourself why you did that? If you never even dared to brave the challenges and try, you wont know what is hidden inside you, the talent or potential.

I believe that every individual has a hidden potential inside you. Whether you are going to unleash it to allow it to soar to achieve greater heights, or to cage it up just like how a bird is and enjoy mundane life, its up to you. It will explain your life, your future later on. I just hope you all can be like the freed eagle, that is willing to brave the mountains and to take up challenges.

Hey band!
Firstly, please be reminded that there WILL be band practice
tomorrow so remember to bring back your instruments.
The bandstore will be open tomorrow morning,
at 6.45am for everybody to put back your instruments.
I want to see everybody coming back, it's compulsory!
It won't kill just to wake up slightly earlier just for ONE day.
And before you leave the bandstore, do sign in your
instruments through the QM loanbook.
Secondly, tomorrow will be your last chance to go and check
out the duty roster. The leaders will test anybody randomly
during assembling. Once again, it won't kill just to memorise
what's your duty for each practice. And also, the duty
roster will commence from tomorrow's practice onwards.

Aloha band! I'm here again to remind
you guys regarding some stuffs.
Because I'm sure some of you are still blur as sotong.
So please take note of all the informations
and do spread it to your friends. It will be appreciated!

1) Band practice on this friday is cancelled
There won't be any band practice on this friday
so for those members who are absent for today's
practice, remember to loan home your instruments
on this thursday. It's strictly compulsory!

2) SYF celebration on this friday
After the national day celebration on friday,
there will be a celebration for all SYF participants
which includes main players, reserves and also non-SYF members.
It is organised by the school and the sec4s will have to
come too.
You don't have to assemble outside the bandstore anymore.
INSTEAD, your SL will be standing at one corner of the
hall and all of you will have to go and find your SL.
As for the seating arrangement, it will be acoording to the
way all of you assemble:
Flutes DoubleReeds Clarinets Saxophones
FrenchHorns Trombones Trumpets
Basses Percussion (Your previous assembling position)
We will be sitting behind the Guzheng members
and we will be sitting from one end of the hall stretching
till the other end.
So we will have to form about 2 or 3 lines as stated above.
The new transferred members will go back to
their old section for the celebration on friday.

3) Duty roster for the band
Please check out the duty roster which is pasted
inside the bandstore, at the area where you normally
put your bags. Memorise what you have to do and
the leaders will test randomly on the next practice.
So make sure you know what's your role for each practice.
Be responsible and do what you're supposed to do!

Hope that you all are clear of the instructions.
And PLEASE, do not be blur on friday!

hello band! (:

Lately, i know we've been scolding you all quite frequently. Adding to it, are your studies and stuffs. But rest assure, i saw all your efforts in coming back for sectionals and the results show it too. For those sec1s, i know it have been really tough on your guys, as you all are still not used to the long hours of band routine which is time-consuming to some of you guys. Furthermore, there's so many songs you all have to learn! Now, the most important thing is not to give up! Your seniors will be there to help you and dont be afraid to ask them for help! We have gone through the stage as well. If we havent, we wont be what we are today right? :D Therefore, i really hope you all can do your part by attending band practices regularly. I know all of aspire to be like the Japanese band after you all watched the video right? or even better! If they can do it, why can't we? I strongly believe that you all will be able to be like the Japanese Band, but its up to you all whether you have the drive to do what you believe in. Hence, start having more confidence in yourself and your music will sound convincing as well. (: Lastly, please bear in mind what i said and dont give up alright! :D We're all behind you all. [:

1) Changing of sequence for assembling

There's a change in the sequence of assembling.
The new one will be as followed:

- Bandstore
- Flute
- Trumpet
- Double Reeds
- Clarinets
- Saxophones
- Trombones
- French Horns
- Bassses
- Percussion
- Music room

The new arrangement will take effect from tomorrow onwards. (:

2) Temperature taking exercise

There will be no more temperature taking exercise before
the start of band practice from tomorrow onwards.
So, you don't have to keep your thermometer in your pocket.
Yup, that's all. Help to spread the message around.

1) Band practice will resume from next tuesday onwards. Therefore, please report for band practice with your instruments and scores. DONT FORGET TO BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS! SLs, please remind your section again and again since your members are quite forgetful! Therefore make use of this weekends to practise before band resumes!

Hi Band! Here to remind you on a few things.

1) The bandstore will be open tomorrow after school again for
those who didn't manage to loan home your instruments
and scores today. This is the last time we're going to open
the bandstore for all of you to loan home your instruments and scores.

2) For those who brought home your instruments and
DIDN'T sign out in the QM loan book, you have to come
back tomorrow too to sign out your instruments.
This is very important, everybody HAVE to sign out
in the QM loan book. If we find out that you didn't sign out
in the QM loan book and you bring home your instruments,
you will be punished severely.

3) Those people who need the green forms,
go to the bandstore tomorrow after school to get it.
Even if you have already bring home your instruments,
you must come back tomorrow to get your green forms

Hey band!
Just here to inform you guys that band practices and sectionals
will be cancelled for this upcoming week as well.
