Lately, i know we've been scolding you all quite frequently. Adding to it, are your studies and stuffs. But rest assure, i saw all your efforts in coming back for sectionals and the results show it too. For those sec1s, i know it have been really tough on your guys, as you all are still not used to the long hours of band routine which is time-consuming to some of you guys. Furthermore, there's so many songs you all have to learn! Now, the most important thing is not to give up! Your seniors will be there to help you and dont be afraid to ask them for help! We have gone through the stage as well. If we havent, we wont be what we are today right? :D Therefore, i really hope you all can do your part by attending band practices regularly. I know all of aspire to be like the Japanese band after you all watched the video right? or even better! If they can do it, why can't we? I strongly believe that you all will be able to be like the Japanese Band, but its up to you all whether you have the drive to do what you believe in. Hence, start having more confidence in yourself and your music will sound convincing as well. (: Lastly, please bear in mind what i said and dont give up alright! :D We're all behind you all. [:

Hey band, just to inform you regarding a few things!
1) Changing of sequence for assembling
There's a change in the sequence of assembling. The new one will be as followed:
- Bandstore - Flute - Trumpet - Double Reeds - Clarinets - Saxophones - Trombones - French Horns - Bassses - Percussion - Music room
The new arrangement will take effect from tomorrow onwards. (:
2) Temperature taking exercise
There will be no more temperature taking exercise before the start of band practice from tomorrow onwards. So, you don't have to keep your thermometer in your pocket. Yup, that's all. Help to spread the message around.
Ending off with,
If you want to be successful, it's just this simple: Know what you're doing. Love what you're doing. And believe in what you're doing.

Hey band, please be reminded that the bandstore would be open tomorrow morning at around 6.45am for all of you to return back your instruments. It's compulsory for everybody to come tomorrow morning as the bandstore would not be open on tuesday morning. And nobody is allowed to bring their instruments back to the class, it is to prevent instruments from being lost. So do cooperate and come tomorrow! (:

Hi Band! Here to remind you on a few things.
1) The bandstore will be open tomorrow after school again for those who didn't manage to loan home your instruments and scores today. This is the last time we're going to open the bandstore for all of you to loan home your instruments and scores.
2) For those who brought home your instruments and DIDN'T sign out in the QM loan book, you have to come back tomorrow too to sign out your instruments. This is very important, everybody HAVE to sign out in the QM loan book. If we find out that you didn't sign out in the QM loan book and you bring home your instruments, you will be punished severely.
3) Those people who need the green forms, go to the bandstore tomorrow after school to get it. Even if you have already bring home your instruments, you must come back tomorrow to get your green forms
4) Those people who are going to the SP concert, bring $8 tomorrow and give it to Yilin.
Be a responsible member and do what you're suppose to do! (:

*NOTE: Some Changes. REREAD!
Hello People!
Yesterday was our performance for some of us. Judging from yesterday's performance, i can see that you all put in alot of hardwork. It was good performance yesterday and i would like to thank all of you who manage to make it a success! Without all of your effort, we wouldn't have been able to showcase our music and allow people to enjoy! Hence, please continue to work hard alright! :D On the other hand, there's some mistakes and blunders we made. Note it down, correct the mistakes, learn from it and move on!
Secondly, as you all know, all the band practices and sectionals has been SUSPENDED due to the H1N1 till further practice. Therefore, ALL OF YOU MUST loan home your instruments to practice your songs and i recommend. The bandstore will be opened after school on tuesday to loan your instruments and scores home. For percussion, loan your sticks home and practice your strokings, songs and irec! On top of that, lower sec pupils involved in elearning, you all still have to come back to loan home your instruments and scores.
Before you all learn the songs, use the 10 steps to score studying and score study. SLs, perhaps you might want to asked them to score study at home first, and hold a Q&A session if they dont understand any rhythm or any fingerings.
For sec1s:
-4 major scales
-1 chromatics
-1 arpeggios
-4 intervals
-Able to hold 24 counts for Concert Bb, Eb
-MAST tongueing
-Nottingham Sketches ( whole piece )
-Majulah ( whole piece )
For Seniors,
-SYF warmups
-Postcard Mvt 1
-First Suite in Eb
-When you will come back
-Majulah
-Nottingham Sketches
SLs, monitor your members progress during this period, ensure that they bring home their own scores and practice, check and remind them frequently about their tasks. About any rhythm the sec1s are unsure about, hold a session with them to clarify their doubts. If you do have any problems, approach me or you SLs. Lastly, please monitor your health and take care of yourselves! Don't fall sick. (:
