for the benefit for those who did not receive the consent forms.
The dates and time are as follows & remember for all
practices you will have to assemble 15mins before band
practice starts:

For those who have not received their consent forms,
must remember to take it on the first holiday band practice
and get it signed. Btw, for those who are going overseas needs
to photocopy your passport to pass it to the secretary and also if you are absent,
remember to produce an MC.

Band, please remember to practice your drills at home over
this weekend as you all will need to showcase your drills
as a section or maybe as individual as soon as Monday (2nd nov).
So start working hard especially standing still in a position for at least 3minutes.
i believe if you all have the determination to practice and try for
about 10mins with strict discipline with yourself, you definitely
wouldnt embarrass yourself on Monday because you are well-prepared for it! :D
And if you dont know the drills commands, you can sms your SLs to
ask too! I believe in you all, so please work hard! :D
Same goes for practicising your instruments at home,
i really hope you all will start to buck up and break through
your difficulties! All the best! : D

drills now, as in about a month or two, you are already seniors.
You wouldnt want your future sec 1s to see you as
a senior with low standard right? So really, buck up everyone!

Hey band! I've asked the SLS to sms you guys regarding
some important annoncements but just in case,
I will post up the announcements at this blog too.
Do take note of it!

1) There'll not be any sectionals on this coming monday and thursday
due to the O level examinations.

2) Band practice on this coming tuesday will start at the normal time,
2pm to 6pm. As for this coming friday's band practice,
it will be from 1.30pm to 6pm.
Take note, it does not start at 1pm.

3) For BOTH practices, everybody is required to assemble at the 4th floor,
open area beside the AV theatre NOT outside the bandstore.
There will be O level examinations at the hall so we have to
minimise our noise level. Please be considerate and keep your noise level down.

4) Those sec2s involved in the kayaking course on this coming tuesday,
you're DON'T HAVE to come for tuesday's practice.
Please inform your SLS beforehand if you're involved in the kayaking course.

5) We'll inform all of you as soon as possible if you all need to bring
your instruments/sticks for this upcoming week's band practice.

Another matter will be the information for farewell night.
Some of you might be unsure of the information for farewell night
so I shall post it up too so do take note of it.

FAREWELL NIGHT

What: As a group, all of you are required to put up a performance together.
So, all of you have to meet up and plan what you want to perform.
It could be in the form of a play, skit, advertisement or
you all can choose to dance or sing.
It would be better if you include props in your performance.
You will have to act out your performance on the spot during farewell night,
we'll not accept any videos.

Duration: Your performance should last for 5mins or more than that.
Nothing less than that.

Due date: 10/11/2009. Your performance should be ready by this date.

Lastly, the groupings for the farewell night is ready.
We didn't appoint any group leader so all of you will have the chance
of choosing your own group leader.

We've made certain changes and I understand that some of you might
feel uncomfortable or lonely as you do not have someone who's close to you
in the group. But the leaders have to rearrange the groupings in a way that
every group will have members who are of
mixed races, gender, section and level.
We really hope that you understand and cooperate with us and
give it your best shot for the performance!
I'm sure all of you would make more friends in
the process of planning for farewell night.
We're a band, all of your fellow bandmates are you friends.
So I hope that everybody will try your very best to put up a nice
and special performance for the sec4s.
They would definitely see your effort and hardwork!

How are you guys? Tmr's the day band's resuming. Please rmb to sign in your instruments in the morning. Its compulsory as it decreases the chance of it being stolen. So, do cooperate with us, and wake up earlier to sign in your instruments! [: 


Next, i'm sure most of you have receive the bad/good news. Lunchtime Concert on 29th October, Thursday is CANCELLED due to the O'Level Examinations in the afternoon. Sorry for all the last minute changes. But you still have to memorize your scores for your specific ensemble, in case we have a performance soon, so you will be able to showcase it easily. I hope all of you do your part in your ensemble and memorize your scores during this period of time. I wouldnt give a deadline, but by Nov everyone should have memorize your score. So, after everything said, please do rmb that it does not stop here. And everyone dont forget the Tanaka Video shown that time! Determination, and willingness to learn is everything! See you all tmr! (:

hello guys. (:
Exams has finally ended for all levels. So there shouldnt be any excuses why you all cant practice at home! The least i expect is to hold long tones at home for every single person. You can lie to me, or your SLs that you did practice, but you cant lie to yourself. By not practicing, you're not able to improve yourself, and you will be stuck there till you decided to start doing something. All the Sls have tried their best to persuade you to practice, and you should do yourself and your SL a favour! Afterall, you're the one gaining, but not your SL! After everything i said, i hope you all will practice during this 2 days before band officially resumes!


Last but not least, i hope everyone involved in the ensemble have already memorise their scores. Because your lunchtime concert would be very soon. Very soon as in 29th October, Thursday. Therefore, everyone please pull up your socks to be determined to show the school what you've got for them! (: Rmb the tanaka video? How every single person strived to do their best! I believe our band will be able to achieve it as well. (: All in all, i hope everyone will support each other in everything you do!

HEY BAND MATES!
Im just here to remind you all that
you all have to practice your drills at home
especially when you all are quite 'free' nowadays
since exams are already officially over.
Hence, I would expect a better standard in you marching the next time
we do drills after band practice resumes and i
really hope that i would see the great improvement
made by you all okay! :D
For the Seniors, you all will have you drills auditions
first as soon as CCA resumes. There will be no
excuse for not be able to do well for the audition
since you all have been doing drills since Sec 1.
As for the Sec 1s, you will have
more time to practice since yours will be held only
after your seniors finished their auditions.
So please put in effort to, give your best shot! :D

Hello band!
Now that exams are over, I'm sure everybody are enjoying yourself.
BUT, do not forget that band practices are resuming soon!
Band practice will be resuming on the 20th of October (Tuesday).
And also, the bandstore will be open on tuesday morning, 6.45am
for everybody to sign in their instruments.
It's strictly compulsory for everybody to come, nobody is allowed
to bring your instruments back to the classroom.
We've made this clear so hope to see everybody signing in your
instruments on tuesday morning!

Hey band,
just to inform all of you that there will definitely be changes to
everybody's sleeping group. However,
the leaders will not be posting up the grouping that soon.
We will only post up the groupings as soon as we finalise the list of
people attending the band camp.
I hope that all of you will understand and
wait patiently for the groupings to be posted up.
And also not forgetting to wish everybody,
good luck for your EOY exams!
